I was mad for Rhoda, and though Valerie isn't even Jewish, Rhoda still ruled as the first Jewish woman to bust out of a small side role into her own popular show. (Even on Mary, Rhoda's part wasn't originally written large. I think she was just supposed to be an intermittent background character, but was so popular she ended up with nearly equal time, and then her own show.)
As though we have any choice!
