The case of the missing screen door window

My father called yesterday to tell me this story.
He has spent many hours this winter looking for the plexi-glass screen door window that he keeps in the cellar during the summer.
Yesterday he asked my mother the million dollor question...
"What did Gretchen use as a painting palette last summer?
My mother replied, "She used a piece of plexi-glasss from the cellar".
OOPS!
The good news is that they flipped it over, and this is what they saw...

The Birthday Party

This one has taken me forever... I started it over a year ago!
It certainly has lots and lots of layers and transparencies.
Well, for whatever it's worth... here it is!

Painting Bingo

Today I painted not one but two portraits of Bingo.
We had a lot of fun. This has been a wonderful day!

Night Gallery

I'm messing around with painting at night and with triptychs.
I'm a daytime painter who needs to learn about nighttime painting.
And about triptychs.

Thanks Wendy for the camera loan!

I bought a new hat today.

One of Leigh's furry ones.

Isabella Stuart Gardner

This is a portrait of Isabella Stuart Gardner, by John Singer Sargent.
I used to love to visit this painting in her wacked wonderland of a museum.
It is sad that this is one of the paintings stolen in one of the biggest museum heists in history.

Ascension

I felt like busting out with some big sloppy mess before I go to work.
Something with some dopey name like "Ascension".
I wonder, what does it make you think of?

One more

Camera dying

My trusty camera is dying.
The one that I took all over the country during the Hillary Clinton campaign.
I've taken thousands and thousands of photos with it...
and now I must bid it adeau.

Possibly the last painting I squeak out of this camera.

Mono-prints

These are mono-prints.
I paint each one individually, then print it on paper.
Only one print gets made per painting.
These all look similar, but actually each one is different.

Here it is so far...
