Cleopatra Lounge Party

The Cleopatra Lounge party was a blast!
Here's some pics of some of the Stars of the show.

Shelagh, turning away Bart's offerings.

Enough already, says Shelagh. Worshippers just don't understand.

Pheona, Shelagh's daughter. She is a young Princess who's greatest wish is to have her own dog.

Kate Taylor, Mariachi style. We'll be seeing more of Kate this winter, as she is planning a SouthWest tour.

Kate and the mighty Bob Lee.

Kate and I, admiring her portrait.

Our adventurous neighbor, Nanci Dator.

Greg Joannidi

Claire Joannidi

Carol Joannidi, flying with the sea birds.

Betsy Harrington

Bob admiring Kate.

Kate and boyfriend, Nick.

Thank you everyone for such a wonderful time on the Vineyard.
I love you all!

Working on Shelagh

I'm working on the "Shelagh" painting today, among others.
It's becoming more of a psychological piece.
The curtain, and what's behind it.
The light, the shadow, the orb.
All the things that will be in Shelagh's one woman show (of which I can not wait for).

Painting Kate Taylor

I spent the afternoon painting Kate Taylor... what a delight!

Kate has always been a great source of inspiration to me.
Not only is she an incredible artist, musician, and fabulous dresser, she is about the nicest person you could ever meet.

Her wampum jewelry is museum-quality-amazing.
Hand-carved out of wampum, shells, and seaglass, her craftsmanship is sublime.

Anyways, I had a wonderful, enchanting afternoon.

Kate Taylor completely rocks!

Painting Laura

It's a rainy day here on the Vineyard. My neighbor Laura came over, and I painted her as she quilted. A very pleasant way to spend the afternoon!

Tonight I am going to have a lobster dinner at Heather's and then go see my friend Jamie's play.... oh ya!

Painting Heather

Heather dropped by The Cleopatra Lounge today, and I ended up painting her.

Just a simple, easy portrait that I painted it as we chatted .

A Crown is redundant

"A crown is redundant" proclaims Shelagh, as she dreams up the beginnings of her one-woman show, "Shelagh".
She has decided that last names are redundant too.

At about this point in our conversation that I realize my seemingly great supply of paint is running out... quickly.
White being the most glaring problem.

I use only yellow, blue, orange and black... which are also disappearing quickly.
But who cares about my painting issues, it's Shelagh we want to know about!

Through the years, Shelagh has blown me away with her acting ability, her pitch-perfect voice,
and her incredible talent at improvisation.
I have no doubts that her one-woman play is going to be as supremely funny, entertaining and enchanting as the lovely Shelagh herself.

Painting Betsy

Painting Betsy Harrington today was a blast!
She is really fun, sparkly, and easy to laugh.
She brought over antlers and pink tulle to wear.
We had to for-go the antlers though, for practicality's sake.

Betsy believes in over-coming fear. She says she doesn't want to be afraid of anything in life.
She deep-sea dives, sky dives, and speaks publicly, among other things.

She made the mistake of admitting to me that she is afraid to sing publicly....

Hello Kareoke!

This has been a great day!
