Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Shawnee and I just got back from magical trip to Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
Isla Mujeres is a small island off of Cancun, on the Yucatan Peninsula.

The water there is crazy blue!

They think of everything there, like having beds on the beaches there for your lounging pleasure.

Canopies and palapas can be found almost everywhere.

Everybody seems happy, even the cats and dogs.

The hospitality there is excellent, and they think of almost everything.

For example, after it rains, sweepers come and sweep away the rain.

(My painted version of this.)

The streets are vibrant and colorful, and a delight to sit and paint.

I spent many hours on the streets,

or in their excellent cafes and restaurants,

sampling their delicious food,
while drawing and painting all the beauty around me!

When I wasn't drawing and painting, we went swimming in the beautiful sea!

There are so many colorful fish to see!

You can feed the fish too!

We also enjoyed visiting the Mayan ruins.
The Mayans were, and still are, bad-ass!

I can't wait to get back to paint, swim, and experience more of the wonders of Isla Mujeres!

Many thanks to Diane and David Daniel, for introducing Shawnee and I to this beautiful Island.
Thank you Jen, Todd, Donna, Gloria, and Jesus, for sharing your island with us!
We will be back very soon!

  1. Bart forwarded this to me-paintings are beautiful! Colors colors colors (I think some higher power needs to throw buckets of paint on the Vineyard, it is very "50 shades of gray" without the s&m)
